Nah maka dari itu kita perlu mengetahui pola-pola kalimatnya, terutama untuk jenis simple present tense ini.

Untuk jenis yang pertama yakni kalimat simple present tense positive. Kalimat ini digunakan untuk menyatakan kalimat berita. Sesuai dengan bentuk tenses-nya, menyatakan kegiatan yang sering dilakukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari or daily activities. Bisa berupa jenis nominal atau verbal (masih ingat?). a. S (They, we, I, You) + main verb +object/ complement

   They + run + to us

b. S (He, she, it) + main verb (+-s/ -es) + object/ complement

    She + loves + an apple

Jenis selanjutnya yakni kalimat simple present tense negative. Kalimat ini menyatakan jenis ingkaran kalimat positif. Dalam kalimat ini membutuhkan kata kerja bantu berupa ‘do not (don’t)’ dan does not (doesn’t)’ atau lebih dikenal dengan kata kerja bantu (auxiliary verb). Bagaimana polanya? Pola kalimatnya adalah (perhatikan baik-baik):

a. S (They, we, I, You) + don’t + main verb +object/ complement

   They + don’t + run + to us

b. S (He, she, it) + doesn’t + main verb + object/ complement

    She + doesn’t + love + an apple

Hati-hati, jika ada kata ‘doesn’t’ maka jangan coba-coba diikuti oleh main verb + s/-es.

Contoh kalimat negatif:

- Maira doesn’t make time as if it is slow.

- Harry and Ron don’t walk so fast.

- Jenna agrees you to follow me.

- Maira and I don’t eat gado-gado everyday.

- Selena doesn’t want us not to hit it.

- They don’t go so early sometimes.

- We don’t clean our room always.

- Ginny doesn’t often write her recipes to her mom.

- It doesn’t always hurt me.

Jenis selanjutnya yakni kalimat simple present tense interrogatie. Kalimat ini menyatakan pertanyaan. Jenis kalimat ini sebenarnya ada dua. Yakni yang menggunakan W+H atau dengan bantuan auxiliary verb. Dalam konteks kali ini akan membahas jenis yang kedua, yakni dengan auxiliary verb. Pola kalimatnya:

a. Do + S (They, we, I, You) + main verb +object/ complement?

   Do + They + to us?

b. Does + S (He, she, it) + main verb + object/ complement?

    Does+ She + love + an apple?
